If your seller gave you a tracking number that starts with YT, you are usually looking at a YunExpress shipment. That prefix is commonly used on YunTrack, the tracking portal people use for YunExpress parcels.

The useful part is simple: keep the full YT code exactly as it appears, paste it into Parcel Detect's YunExpress page, and check whether the shipment is still with YunExpress or already with a local delivery partner.

How do I track a YunExpress number starting with YT?

  1. Copy the full YT number from your order page or shipping email.
  2. Paste it into YunExpress tracking.
  3. Read the latest event and look for a second carrier or last mile number.
  4. If the parcel is already in the United States, also test the number on USPS tracking.

Do not shorten the number. Do not remove the YT prefix. If you paste only the digits, some tracking tools fail to match the shipment correctly.

What does a YT tracking number usually look like?

The most common public example is a YunExpress code that starts with YT and continues with digits, like YT1234567890123456.

That does not mean every shipment looks identical. Some sellers also send a second code later, especially when the parcel reaches the destination country and moves to a local last mile carrier.

Is every YT number a YunExpress package?

You should not treat YT as a universal rule for every carrier in logistics. But if the seller tells you to use YunExpress or YunTrack, and the code starts with YT, that is the right place to start.

In practice, buyers usually do not need to solve the carrier naming problem first. They need to know where the parcel is. Use the full number, then follow the carrier result that recognizes it.

Why does a YT number stop updating?

Most scan gaps come from one of these:

  • the seller created the label before the parcel was scanned;
  • the parcel is between export scans in China;
  • the parcel is in line haul to the destination country;
  • customs has not released it yet;
  • the local carrier received it under a second tracking number.

If the number has no first scan after 24 to 48 hours, wait a bit longer. If there is still nothing after three business days, ask the seller to confirm the code.

Do I need a second tracking number?

Sometimes yes. YunExpress often handles the export leg, while USPS, Royal Mail, Canada Post, or another local carrier handles final delivery.

That is why you may see:

  • a YunExpress YT number first;
  • then a local last mile tracking number later;
  • or the same YT number continuing to work on the local carrier site.

If Parcel Detect shows a second carrier, open it. That usually gives you the cleanest view of the delivery side of the route.
